Rick Wedell joined RFG Advisory as Partner and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) in 2016, where he manages multi-asset portfolios and provides strategic insights on asset allocation and portfolio construction. He leads the development of RFG’s investment platform, Bluemonte. Rick’s investment philosophy emphasizes straightforward analysis and a consistent, rigorous process, aiming to provide financial advisors with the high level of service typically reserved for foundations and family offices.
Before RFG, Rick spent 12 years at Bain Capital Credit, rising to Executive Vice President and Head of Fixed Income Consumer Investments, managing portfolios through volatile markets. His experience underscored the importance of diversification and risk management. Rick conducts seminars nationwide and hosts the bi-weekly YouTube series Market Commentary with Rick Wedell. He holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in Applied Mathematics & Economics from Harvard University, Magna Cum Laude.
